Phase One: Discovery
After an initial consult, in which we gather information to finalize your proposal, the first phase of our design cycle is discovery. We have developed a proprietary set questions to help gather information such as demographics, goals and desired outcomes for visitors to the site, how the site can be incorporated into existing marketing strategies and more. This process is crucial as it sets the groundwork for our design process. This phase requires two meetings, one with our design department to discuss all design and layout parameters and another meeting with our content writer who takes on the hefty job of working with you to provide some of the best written copy for your new website - of which he incorporates Search Engine Optimization strategies.
Phase Two: Design
This is our favorite phase - without question. Once we have established design guidelines and market information (as mentioned above), we harness the design talent found at JB Systems and make it a company-wide goal to design a site that is superior in design and content to any competitor of yours. Our design process includes completely unique, custom designed Adobe Photoshop ® prototype designs. We then allow you to review the design directions and mix & match any elements from them. This is an awesome way to approach the website design and is more thorough than the approach our competitors take.
Phase Three: XHTML Production - Coding
Once we have established your design, the finished layout gets sent to our Red Bull drinking, hot-pocket eating programmers - who take the design and transform it into a working XHTML compliant website. In addition, if your website has features such as interactive photo galleries, database-driven Frequently Asked Questions, or the like - it is in this phase that they get programmed and tested.
JB Systems uses some of the latest and greatest technologies to build our websites, such as PHP 5, MySQL 5, Ajax, JavaScript, Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex, and more.
Phase Four: Testing
After the entire website has been completely laid out, we take the necessary time to test the website in various browser environments (IE 7, IE 8, Firefox 2, Firefox 3, Chrome, Safari, Webkit, etc). All pages are reviewed by our staff members and nit picky changes may be made to tighten the overall appearance. This process is documented and repeats in full circle until no more suggestions can be made. It is after this point that we schedule a final review of the website with you, and pre-plan our website launch.
Phase Five: Launch
With careful planning, we will work with your existing domain name registrar (or we will purchase a domain name for you) and will setup all pertinent account information such as directory permissions, email address, SPAM settings, and the like. Once those settings are in place, we schedule the transfer and take the site live. With the website up and running, the new exposure on the web will surely open new doors and opportunities for your business - all from people that normally wouldn't have found you as they surfed the web for your
particular product or service.
Phase Six: Are You Guys Done Yet?
Answer: Never! Even though your new website is done and ready for all to see and explore, we're never truly done working with our customers. The project may be finished - but our job never is. The web is ever-expanding, with new technologies and strategies emerging each month. It's our job to keep you informed of them. Many clients like to have updates done after the website has been live for awhile, others may be interested in our Search Engine Optimization services, and other clients may like to see some "Flash" components or even live video added to their websites. In addition, it is company policy to check in with you from time to time to schedule a Website Review or let you know about your stats.
